Gravitee

The Scoop: Gravitee is basically golf… in space. The goal is to launch a ball through a hoop on the other side of the screen. The hook is that to get low scores you’ll need to harness the gravity of the various planets littering each particular hole.

The Popsci link below explains that Gravitee is using real physics to determine how your ball will interact with the numerous gravitational pulls it comes into contact with. This consistency makes for a pretty great experience. At first you’ll be firing balls wildly, but after a while you’ll start to intuit how much force you’ll need to escape a big planet’s gravity, without overshooting it. It’s satisfying to harness gravity to whip your ball around numerous planets in exactly the way you planned.

Gravitee also has just about the best collection of extras and unlockables I’ve seen in a flash game. You’ll unlock tools to make the game easier, developer tips on how to improve your skills, a level editor, “making of” features showing off original sketches, and more. The game itself is equally meaty, with TEN 9-hole courses to complete and earn gold medals on.
