The Scoop: First off, SO SORRY about the downtime, everyone. The last few days were the first in 55+ that TFG wasn’t updated, and I’m not happy about it. Our host was having an issue with the box TFG is housed on, and at the same time, my PC had to go in for emergency repairs. The double-whammy prevented updates. But we’re back, and better than ever! Well, OK… that isn’t true. But we ARE back. And we’re the same as before! That’s pretty good, right?

Anyway, onto Minotaur China Shop. The game is made by the same guys that made Splume, one of the first games TFG covered. The basic premise is that you’re a minotaur running a china shop (naturally). Your goal is to make as much money as you can, in five in-game days.

Only, the thing is… this minotaur suffers from a debilitating condition known as MINOTAUR RAGE, which is set off any time he accidentally bumps into more than one or two pieces of china. Seeing as minotaurs are huge, lumbering, muscle-bound beasts, this tends to happen a lot.

The brilliant thing about Minotaur China Shop is that there’s two upgrade paths for your minotaur, and two corresponding ways to make your fortune, and both are fairly balanced. You can play it straight, and try to suppress your rage with purchasable skills like “Deep Breath.” You’ll make money by very carefully making your way through your shop, fetching the items customers want.

ORRRRR, you can purchase copious amounts of “rage insurance,” invest in moves such as an overhead smash or a whirlwind, and just rage through your whole shop, trying to keep your destruction chained together, for major rage insurance bucks.

Both are completely viable strategies. I think it’s obvious which one is more fun, though.
